India to use Ethereum technology to verify diplomas - Cointelegraph

BackyardProduction/iStock Editorial via Getty ImagesThe government of Maharashtra partners with the Indian blockchain startup LegitDoc in an effort to implement an e-governance structure for education with a credentialing system powered by the Ethereum blockchain to provide tamper-proof diploma certificates, Cointelegraph reports, citing LegitDoc CEO Neil Martis."While the certificates are verified using traditional manual methods, MSBD (Maharashtra State Board of Skill Development) will start advocating only the digital verification method for all the manual verification requests starting next year, Martis told Cointelegraph in a statement.That ranks India as an early adopter of an e-governance system for education along with the Massachusetts Institute of technology, Malta, and Singapore.LegitDoc has an active work order from the Government of Karnataka (Department of Information Technology and Biotechnology) and is in talks with Government of Telangana (school education department) and the Higher & Technical education department of Maharashtra to implement LegitDoc for their student community.Like most
