In an interview with CNBC, Mandia also compared his job as "playing goalie" against cybercriminals, though he warned that "we can't play perfect defense every day." The FireEye CEO said that companies are better protected than ever before. However, this is counterweighted by the sheer number of attempted cybercrimes that take place, Mandia noted. Keeping up the sports metaphor, he compared this to an offense that had "unlimited attempts." On cryptocurrencies, Mangia argued the rise in cybercrime has come hand-in-hand with the increased availability of cryptos.
